When London looks up into a big blue sky, she grins and unfurls and becomes irresistible
Today I ran to her
To soak up her scandalous stories and relive a few of my own left around and about
Mad how vivid the memories, as I skip along these familiar streets and stones
Globs of nostalgia bubble up. Snippets of stuff said and done, laughs giggled, tears sniffed and loves loved, all whiz about my head
Here, there and everywhere, liminal glimpses of a past London life
I stare into that café, this restaurant now seeming so different, but I clearly see our night, hear our conversation — picture perfect, pitched to the note…
So I get lovingly lost, focused now on fixing fresh Polaroids to my living collage
‘Cos this sunny blue day London is joy
A joy of fluffy clouds and warm no-nonsense hugs
And I melt into her… just for a few hours, bathed in all the layers of my once London life
